Jewellery By Shalini

Rose Quartz & Wire Bracelet - Jewellery By ShaliniHi, I am Shalini Austin. I live in Stamford and I am very excited to be part of the Stamford Artisans Guild.

I make unique, hand-crafted semi-precious gemstones, beads and pearl jewellery. My favourite medium is Wire and I really enjoy playing with different types of wire and letting it take it’s own course when I start wrapping it around a stone or bead. I mainly work with Sterling Silver and 14/20 Gold Filled Wire but have recently had a lot of fun with Coloured and plated Copper wire as well! I have also started making unique Wire Sculpture trees recently.

Each Jewellery By Shalini piece is unique and totally hand-crafted to create Pendants, Earrings, Bracelets, Necklaces and hair jewellery. I am also very happy to undertake bespoke orders for Weddings & Special Events like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Birthdays, Christmas etc.

Sodalite and Copper Pendant-Necklace from Jewellery By ShaliniThe semi precious gemstones used in the jewellery have all been processed in our own workshop (run by my husband Dave – Stamford Lapidary) from rough. We cut the stones into suitable sizes for the different polishing and shaping processes – Tumble Polishing and as Cabochons on our in-house grinding and Polishing machine. The only exceptions are Cameos, beads and pearls which we do buy ready made from worldwide suppliers of these items.
